课程英文简介
Professional English is a selected course for Master students whose specialty is horticulture. The main aim of this course is to let the students learn basic vocabulary of English in the field of horticulture, to know the basic rules for presentation using professional English, to master the translation skills of academic articles, by reading academic articles published in English in recent years. By this course, the ability of students for academic reading and academic writing in English will be greatly improved, which will lay a basis for them to communicate using English in academic activities. The teaching methods mainly include preparing lessons before class, classroom asking and discussing, supplemented by class taught using multimedia. The course contents covered almost all aspects of horticulture discipline, including the cultivation, breeding, extermination of disease, storage and processing of horticultural species, i.e. fruits, vegetables, ornamental plants and tea, as well as comprehensive discussion on each section of an academic paper such as Title, Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusions.

教学目标
园艺专业英语是为园艺专业学生开设的选修课程，主要讲授园艺学英语的基本知识，旨在帮助学生提高阅读英文专业资料的能力，并具备查阅英文专业资料的能力。通过本课程学习，学生可参加英语科技讲座、会议，撰写简单英语科技论文，以培养高素质的、符合国际化标准的人才，使学生毕业后能很快适应社会的要求，能够进行国际交流与合作，参与国际竞争。
